This session will explore the impact oral health professionals can have by working collaboratively to establish trust, address systemic racism, and build with equity. Participants will learn the Johnson trust formula that describes the elements of identifying, connecting, and becoming trusted messengers. Participants will learn about the importance of “inreach” and transfer of trust and the creation of brave, safe spaces for difficult conversations as collaboration tools.
By the end of this session participants will be able to:
Describe at least five key elements of establishing trust
Describe how trust is transferred
Discuss the importance of establishing brave, safe space in relationships
Define the difference between outreach and “inreach”
